About Antonio Burgess

About Antonio Burgess

Antonio is a proud product of the Broward County Public School System, having attended Northfork Elementary School, North Andrew Gardens Elementary School, Parkway Middle School, and Dillard High School. After Graduating from Dillard High School, he attended and graduated from Florida A & M University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Education. He continued his education at Ashford University with a Master’s Degree in Education. Currently, he is pursuing a Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.

Mr. Burgess began his professional educational career as a teacher in the Broward County School District. While employed in Broward County Public Schools as a teacher, Mr. Burgess had the privilege of serving a Interim Substitute at Charles Drew Elementary in Pompano Beach, Florida teaching third grade, Then Mr. Burgess began teaching third grade at Walker Elementary. Mr. Burgess continued his professional career at Lauderdale Lakes Middle School as a Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair. Mr. Burgess started the middle school program at his alma mater Dillard High School 6-12 serving as Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair. Rising through the ranks and promoted to the district as an instructional specialist providing interventions and supports to students across the district. Currently, Mr. Burgess serves as the coordinator for mentoring initiatives and manages the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project. While serving in our public schools, Mr. Burgess has developed a strong appreciation for the challenges our students face in and outside of the classroom.
